Short answer: Deel charges per worker per month, and the price depends on how you engage the person. Contractor management starts at 49 dollars per contractor per month, Contractor of Record at 325, a US PEO employee at 125, an Employer of Record (EOR) employee at 599, and Deel Hire at 14 dollars per worker per month. There is no per-seat software plan to compare. You pay for each person you hire, manage or pay through Deel.

Many third-party price lists quote older or rounded figures, so we read Deel's own pricing page on 30 October 2026 and used only the numbers printed there. Deel labels every figure "starting at", which means your quote can be higher for complex countries, larger teams or add-ons. Treat the table as a floor for budgeting, then ask for a written quote.

How much does Deel cost for contractors?

Contractor management starts at 49 dollars per contractor per month. For that Deel lists centralized contractor management, payments in 120+ currencies, automated invoicing, tax form guidance and document collection, and worker classification compliance checks. If you would rather not carry the classification risk yourself, Contractor of Record starts at 325 dollars per contractor per month, and Deel takes on the liability.

The gap between 49 and 325 is the real decision. A designer in Portugal on a clear project basis is a standard contractor. A full-time developer who works your hours, uses your tools and has worked for you for two years is the kind of person tax authorities challenge, and the 276 dollar monthly difference is what you pay to move that exposure off your books.

How much does Deel EOR cost?

EOR starts at 599 dollars per employee per month. That fee covers legal employment in 130+ countries, managed payroll and tax filings, benefits administration, onboarding and compliance, and on-demand HR, legal and tax support. It does not include the employee's salary, employer taxes or the cost of the benefits themselves. Those pass through at cost and vary a lot by country.

US employers have a cheaper route. The US PEO starts at 125 dollars per employee per month and uses co-employment across all 50 states, with healthcare, dental, vision, mental health, fertility and 401(k) benefits available. Deel also advertises a limited promotion of three months of complimentary platform fees on new PEO order forms signed between 15 July and 31 December 2026 with a minimum two year term, so check the terms before you sign.

Three monthly cost examples

These use only the starting prices above, before salary, taxes, benefits and add-ons, so your real invoice will be higher.

TeamDeel platform fees per monthMath
10 contractors, self classified490 dollars10 x 49
5 contractors, 2 of them on Contractor of Record797 dollars3 x 49 plus 2 x 325
4 EOR employees plus 6 contractors2,690 dollars4 x 599 plus 6 x 49

The pattern is simple. Multiply each worker type by its starting price and add the lines. The jump from the first row to the second shows how much the liability choice matters: moving just two people to Contractor of Record adds more than the other three cost combined.

Contractor, Contractor of Record, PEO or EOR

The product you pick sets the price more than any negotiation will. A short way to choose: if the person runs their own business, sets their own hours and works for several clients, use standard contractor management. If the work looks like a job but you do not want an employee, Contractor of Record moves the liability to Deel at a higher monthly fee. If the person lives in the US and should be an employee with benefits, the PEO is the cheapest path at 125 dollars. If they live abroad and should be an employee, EOR is the only one of the four that gives you full legal employment without your own entity.

Mixing is normal. Many companies pay a handful of specialists as contractors and put their two or three core hires abroad on EOR, which is why the cost examples above combine worker types. Add up each group separately so a single high-priced line does not hide inside an average.

Does Deel require a long-term contract?

According to Deel's pricing page, no. It describes flexible month-to-month pricing with no long-term commitment, and says you can cancel at any time. For EOR employees, local labor law still applies, so notice periods and severance obligations remain even if the Deel relationship ends. The PEO promotion mentioned above is the exception, since it requires a two year order form.

Are there hidden costs with Deel?

Deel states there are no hidden costs and that local compliance, payroll and benefits administration are included in the quoted price. The practical reading is that the platform fee is clear, while the pass-through items (salary, employer taxes, benefits premiums and currency spread) belong to the worker and the country, not to Deel. Ask for those as line items in the quote.

Can I try Deel before paying?

Deel's page offers a free demo and a call with its team, not a self-serve free tier. Prepare your worker mix, countries and payout currencies before the call so the quote you get back is a real number.

What sits outside the sticker price

  • Salary and employer costs. EOR and PEO fees are on top of pay, payroll taxes and benefits.
  • Currency exchange. Deel says it offers competitive exchange rates and multiple payment methods with minimal fees. Ask for the exact spread on your payout currencies.
  • Add-ons. The pricing page lists only starting prices, so ask what equipment, immigration or screening add on top for your countries.
  • Off-cycle payments. Bonuses and corrections are created outside the normal cycle, and they are where most surprise spend appears.
  • API and automation. Deel publishes a REST API and an MCP server. We could not find a separate public price for API access, so confirm it with sales.

Deel pricing when an AI agent pays your workers

More finance teams now let an assistant draft contractor invoices, add bonuses or reconcile payouts. Deel's OAuth server publishes 100 scopes, 47 of them write, and the add off-cycle payment and create invoice adjustment calls both accept an is_auto_approved flag. The platform fee is predictable, but the amounts an agent can add are not capped by anything in the scope list. We measured it call by call on our Deel MCP server and API spend controls page, and it is worth ten minutes before you connect write access.

If you are comparing payout platforms on the same basis, our Tipalti pricing breakdown and Bill.com API pricing guide use the same method: published prices first, then the cost of what an automated payer can do. Accounts payable teams that need to match contractor invoices against what was actually paid can look at automated invoice matching for AP teams before month end.

Is Deel worth the price?

Deel earns its fee when the alternative is a local entity per country, or hand-built contractor paperwork in five currencies. It is expensive per head against a domestic payroll tool, so it is the wrong choice for a large team in one country, and a 599 dollar EOR fee only makes sense for people you cannot employ locally. For a US company hiring a handful of people abroad, the all-in-one billing saves real admin time. Get the written quote, model the total cost per worker including pass-through costs, and decide on that number rather than the sticker.
