Short answer: Airwallex has three US pricing plans. Explore costs 0 dollars a month and includes up to 10 free Spend users. Grow costs 12 dollars per Spend user a month plus an Airwallex Platform fee based on team size, for up to 250 Spend users. Accelerate is custom priced. On every plan you also pay transaction fees: 0.5 percent over interbank for FX in major currencies, 15 to 25 dollars per SWIFT wire, and 2.8 percent plus 30 cents to accept a US card.

We read Airwallex's US pricing page and its US fee schedule, last updated 19 October 2026, and checked every number below against them. Where Airwallex does not publish a figure, we say so instead of guessing.

Airwallex pricing plans at a glance

PlanMonthly priceSpend usersWhat it adds
Explore0 dollarsUp to 10 freeBusiness accounts, multi-currency corporate cards, Spend, Payments, Billing, and bank feed, expense and bill sync with QuickBooks and Xero
Grow12 dollars per Spend user, plus a platform fee by team sizeUp to 250Purchase orders, approval workflows, auto-freeze rules, bill approval workflows, NetSuite and Dynamics 365 Business Central sync, HRIS integrations, single sign-on
AccelerateCustomCustomAI 3-way matching, a custom Spend API integration with your ERP, a dedicated account manager, up to 3 entities

Two footnotes change how you read that table. The monthly fee is charged per business legal entity, so a US company with a UK subsidiary on separate entities pays twice. And a Spend user is not a seat you assign: Airwallex counts anyone who holds an active employee card, or who submits, approves or pays a card expense, reimbursement or bill in that billing period. A manager who approves one bill a month is a user that month.

What changed in Airwallex pricing in 2026

Search for Airwallex pricing and you will still find Grow listed at a flat 99 dollars a month. That was the old structure. Airwallex's US fee schedule now prices Grow at 12 dollars per Spend user per month, with an added Airwallex Platform fee that depends on the total number of Spend users. The platform fee tiers are not published, so ask for them in writing.

The fee schedule also dates a new charge. From 12 October 2026, international transfers sent through local payment networks carry a per-transfer fee on Explore: 1 dollar to places such as the euro area, the UK, Australia, Mexico and Singapore, 2 dollars to markets including Switzerland, Sweden and India, up to 5 dollars for a long tail of currencies and 7 dollars for Japanese yen. Airwallex states that these local-network fees do not apply to Grow and Accelerate customers. Transfers within the US and Canada stay free on every plan.

For most US companies that pay suppliers abroad, FX is the line that matters. A team converting 100,000 dollars a month into euros pays about 500 dollars in FX margin on the published rate, which dwarfs the plan fee on any small team.

Airwallex payment acceptance fees

If you also collect payments through Airwallex, the US schedule lists 2.80 percent plus a 0.30 dollar gateway fee for domestic Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards, and 4.30 percent plus 0.30 dollars for international cards. Refunds cost 0.30 dollars per request plus network charges, and a chargeback costs 15 dollars plus network charges. Airwallex's AI dispute automation charges 25 percent of a won dispute, capped at 200 dollars, and subscription management costs 0.50 percent per successful transaction for customers onboarded after 1 December 2025. Invoicing is free on every plan. If the harder problem is getting those invoices paid on time, an accounts receivable automation tool that chases unpaid invoices is a separate and much smaller purchase.

Is the Airwallex API included in the price?

The Airwallex API is available to Airwallex accounts, and the published plans do not list a per-call API fee. Two lines hint at where API pricing does appear. The US fee schedule lists an API integration setup fee as "to be advised," and the pricing page says the Platform APIs, used by companies embedding Airwallex in their own product, are priced by custom quote. Accelerate is the only plan that names a custom Spend API integration with your ERP. If your plan depends on the API, put access, rate limits and any setup fee in the quote.

A worked monthly Airwallex budget for a US team

Take a US software company with 15 people who hold cards or approve bills, paying 20 European and UK contractors a month through local networks and converting about 60,000 dollars into euros and pounds:

LineExploreGrow
Plan fee0 dollars, but Explore includes 10 free Spend users, so 15 users point to Grow15 x 12 = 180 dollars, plus the platform fee for that team size
FX margin60,000 x 0.5% = 300 dollars60,000 x 0.5% = 300 dollars
Local-network transfers20 x 1 dollar = 20 dollars0 dollars, not charged on Grow
Domestic US payments0 dollars0 dollars
Rough monthly totalAbout 320 dollars, if the team fits in 10 usersAbout 480 dollars plus the platform fee

The point of the exercise is the shape, not the totals. FX scales with the money you move, while the user fee scales with headcount, and the people who count as users include every bill approver. A company that adds approvers to tighten control pays for each of them on Grow.

Airwallex vs Mercury and Tipalti pricing

US teams usually shortlist Airwallex next to a domestic bank or an AP platform. Mercury charges 0, 35 or 350 dollars a month for its three plans and does not charge for USD transfers, but adds a 1 percent fee on non-USD wires, as we cover in our Mercury pricing plans guide. Tipalti starts at 99 dollars a month for Accounts Payable with unlimited users, and keeps its per-payment and FX rates in the quote, which our Tipalti pricing breakdown walks through.

The rule of thumb: Airwallex wins when you hold and convert several currencies and want cards in all of them, Mercury wins when almost everything is in dollars, and Tipalti wins when the job is supplier onboarding and tax forms at volume rather than the account itself.

What changes when AI agents issue cards on Airwallex

Airwallex now ships AgentOS, which connects Claude, Cursor and Codex to a production Airwallex account through an MCP server and a CLI. We read the server's OAuth metadata on 21 October 2026. It publishes 35 scopes, 12 of them writes, and no scope for transfers, FX conversions or payouts, so money cannot leave through a wire. It can, though, create cardholders and issue corporate cards with spend limits, and the agent that issues the card chooses the limit. The full measurement is on our Airwallex MCP server and API controls page.

That puts a new line on your Airwallex bill that no plan prices: whatever an agent spends on cards it issued itself. Airwallex's card controls are good, with limits from per transaction to all time and merchant category locks, but each limit belongs to one card, and nothing adds the cards of one agent into one budget. It can add users too: on Grow, every new cardholder with an active card counts as a Spend user that month.

That is the gap AgentsPay closes. Each agent gets its own monthly budget, a per-transaction ceiling and an approval threshold with a named approver, checked before it issues a card or pays on any rail, with spend controls for AI agents that apply the same way to Airwallex cards and other payment methods.

Which Airwallex plan should you choose?

Choose Explore if you have up to 10 people on cards and bills and mostly need multi-currency accounts, cards and FX. Move to Grow once you pass 10 Spend users, need approval workflows and purchase orders, sync with NetSuite, or send many international transfers that would otherwise pay the per-transfer local-network fee. Talk to Airwallex about Accelerate if you run several entities or need the Spend API connected to your ERP. If AI agents will issue cards or pay on the account, budget for the control layer at the same time. Our AgentsPay plans are priced by the number of agent wallets, with no per-transaction fee.
