Short answer: Intercom Fin pricing is 0.99 dollars per Fin outcome on every plan, charged at most once per conversation, plus Intercom helpdesk seats at 29, 85 or 132 dollars per seat per month. An outcome is a resolution or, since 12 March 2026, a Fin Procedure that ends in a handoff to your team. If Fin runs on Zendesk or Salesforce instead of Intercom's helpdesk, there are no seats, and a minimum monthly commitment applies, which Intercom gives as 50 outcomes. For a 10-seat US support team that is roughly 3,000 dollars a month. If Fin issues refunds, the refunds can easily cost more than that, and they never appear on the Intercom invoice.

We read Intercom's pricing page and its help articles on Fin outcomes and Fin Procedures on 30 September 2026. Unlike most AI agent vendors, Intercom prints its per-outcome rate publicly, so every Intercom number below comes from Intercom. The refund figures in the worked example are assumptions, labeled as such, for you to swap for your own.

Seat prices are the figures shown on Intercom's pricing page with annual billing. Startups under 10 million dollars raised and 15 employees can apply to the Early Stage program, which Intercom advertises at a 93 percent discount.

What counts as an Intercom Fin outcome

Intercom counts an outcome when the customer confirms the issue is resolved, when the customer does not ask for more help after Fin responds, or when Fin completes a Procedure, including one that ends in a handoff. It bills at most one outcome per conversation, no matter how many questions Fin answers or how many procedures it runs. Intercom also says you are never charged when a procedure fails or exits without a billable outcome.

The procedure handoff change on 12 March 2026 matters for budgeting. Before it, a conversation Fin started and a human finished was usually free. Now, if your refund procedure collects the order number, checks eligibility and hands a larger refund to a teammate for approval, that conversation bills 99 cents even though a person made the final call. Budget handoffs as outcomes.

A worked Intercom Fin budget for a 10-seat US support team

Take a US SaaS company with 10 support agents on the Advanced plan and 3,000 customer conversations a month. Assume Fin reaches a billable outcome in 60 percent of them, a common target in vendor case studies but one you should replace with your own pilot data.

LineCalculationMonthly cost
Advanced seats10 x 85 dollars850 dollars
Fin outcomes1,800 x 0.99 dollars1,782 dollars
Copilot10 x 29 dollars290 dollars
Pro add-onBase price99 dollars
Intercom invoice3,021 dollars

Now add refunds. Suppose 8 percent of conversations are refund or cancellation requests, which is 240 a month, and you let a Fin Procedure with the Stripe write template settle 150 of them automatically at an average of 60 dollars. That is 9,000 dollars a month leaving your Stripe balance, three times the whole Intercom bill, and the Intercom invoice shows it as 150 outcomes at 99 cents, or 148.50 dollars. The fee is the small number. The refund is the large one.

None of this is a reason to avoid Fin. Most of those refunds were owed, and paying them in seconds instead of hours is good service. The point is that your budget review should treat refund value as a line of its own, with its own ceiling, rather than assume the Intercom invoice is the cost of the AI agent.

Intercom Fin pricing when Fin runs on Zendesk or Salesforce

Intercom sells Fin on top of other helpdesks, including Salesforce and Zendesk. In that setup you pay 0.99 dollars per outcome with no seats and no setup, integration or platform fees, and a minimum monthly commitment applies, which Intercom's pricing FAQ gives as 50 outcomes. That minimum is small, so the real comparison with your current helpdesk's native AI is the outcome price against its own meter. Zendesk, for example, bills AI agents per automated resolution and does not print a per-resolution rate. We compared the two meters in our Zendesk AI agent pricing guide.

Intercom caps its own AI credits, not your refunds

There is a detail on Intercom's pricing page worth reading twice. For the Pro add-on, Intercom says you can track Operator credit usage, set alerts, and "use hard limits to control spend". Intercom built a hard spend limit for the money you pay Intercom.

For the money Fin pays out on your behalf, there is no equivalent. Intercom's documented control is the "Loop in teammate / agent" step, which pauses a procedure for a human decision, and any dollar threshold is an IF/ELSE condition you write into that one procedure. We measured the rest of the setup, including the Intercom MCP server's 14 tools, in our Intercom Fin refund controls analysis. No workspace-wide refund ceiling or daily total is documented.

How to keep Fin refund procedures inside a budget

Three rules cover most of the risk. First, cap each refund and cap the daily total, because a per-refund limit alone still allows a thousand small refunds. Second, refund only to the original payment method and never above the original charge. Third, send anything above your threshold to a person, and set that threshold from your average order value rather than a round number.

Put those rules in the service the data connector calls, not only in the procedure text. Procedure conditions protect the procedure they sit in. A policy in front of the Stripe call protects every procedure, including ones a colleague writes next quarter. That is what per-agent spend limits and approval thresholds in AgentsPay do, and our AI agent refunds use case walks through the flow end to end. The refund exceptions and disputes Fin hands to your team then land in normal back-office billing and support operations with the amount, rule and approver already recorded.

Questions buyers ask about Intercom Fin pricing

How much does Intercom Fin cost per resolution?

Intercom Fin costs 0.99 dollars per outcome, and a resolution is one kind of outcome. The others are procedure handoffs since 12 March 2026. Intercom charges at most once per conversation, so a conversation where Fin answers three questions and resolves the issue costs 99 cents in total. Voice outcomes cost 1.99 dollars.

Does Intercom charge for Fin procedures that fail?

No. Intercom says you are never charged when a procedure fails or exits without a billable outcome. You are charged when the conversation reaches a resolution or a procedure handoff to a human or workflow. Budget a refund procedure that ends in a teammate approval as a billable handoff.

How much does Intercom cost for a small team?

The minimum is one full seat, from 29 dollars a month on Essential, plus 0.99 dollars per Fin outcome. A three-person team handling 500 conversations a month with Fin resolving half of them would pay about 87 dollars in seats and about 248 dollars in outcomes, roughly 335 dollars a month before add-ons. Intercom offers a 14-day trial with no credit card.

Is Intercom Fin worth the price?

At 99 cents an outcome, Fin is cheaper than a human-handled ticket for almost any US support team, so the fee is rarely the deciding factor. The deciding factors are the share of conversations Fin actually resolves in your pilot and what Fin is allowed to do. If Fin issues refunds or credits, the value of those payouts, and the controls on them, matter more to your P&L than the outcome fee.
